The document "Principles of Good Research Practice and Creative Activity at Palacký University in Olomouc " was created to provide clear and brief guidelines for research activities guided by high ethical standards. This document was created out of the need to unify a common understanding of ethical practices in research and to contribute to the prevention of errors in research activities across the academic community of Palacký University. This handbook is intended for all members of the academic community, i.e. staff, students and research personnel, and should serve as a signpost and guide to various ethical challenges and problems. By adhering to ethical principles, we can ensure that our research not only contributes to the advancement of our knowledge, but also maintains the trust of the public and the academic community.
Science is an ongoing quest for truth and knowledge, so the requirements of good research practice can change and evolve over time. The handbook "Principles of Good Research Practice and Creative Activity at Palacký University in Olomouc" is a living document that aims to evolve with the current needs of science.
At the same time, the Open Science Courses are thematically intertwined and synergistically complementary with the handbook, which, in addition to the key principles and concepts of open science (e.g. open access, open data), also deal with aspects of good research practice or the topic of responsible science. The courses are announced through the Centre for Lifelong Education from the summer semester 2024.
