How can researchers make their results more visible, find new partners for collaboration, and more easily discover research across the universities of the Aurora Alliance? These questions will be addressed in the online workshop “Diving into the AURORA Gateway: Discovering Research and Fostering Collaboration”, which will take place on 19 June from 9:30 to 11:00. Participants will be introduced to the Aurora Gateway research portal, which is not intended for directly publishing new articles, but for searching, connecting, and increasing the visibility of research outputs from universities involved in the Aurora Alliance.

Open Science is increasingly shaping the way research is conducted, shared, and assessed. Funders, publishers, and research institutions are placing growing emphasis on making research results open, transparent, and reusable. In practice, however, this may raise a number of questions: How does Open Science benefit researchers themselves? How can it increase the visibility of their work? And how can it help them find new opportunities for collaboration?

These questions will be explored in an online workshop organised by the universities of the Aurora Alliance as part of a series of sessions dedicated to various aspects of Open Science. The workshop will be delivered by OpenAIRE, an organisation that provides infrastructure and services supporting Open Science in the European research area.

During the session, participants will be introduced to the Aurora Gateway research portal, developed using OpenAIRE CONNECT. The portal makes it possible to search research outputs from universities involved in the Aurora Alliance, browse institutional and thematic collections, discover experts from partner universities, and identify possible links for future collaboration.

The workshop will show how AURORA Gateway can help increase the visibility of research results, connect them with other topics and institutions, and make it easier to navigate the open scholarly ecosystem. This practical presentation will be useful both for researchers and for research support staff.

Who is the workshop for?

The event is open to researchers from all disciplines as well as staff involved in research and science support. Early-career researchers, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and experienced academics are all welcome to attend.

When and where?

The workshop will take place online on Friday, 19 June, from 9:30 to 11:00 CEST.
