for the UP Rector’s Award for Sustainability

for the Best Scientific or Artistic Theses by students in Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes

  • The author of the awarded thesis will receive a financial reward in the amount of CZK 2000 (3rd Place), CZK 3000 (2nd Place), and CZK 5000 (1st Place) in the form of a special stipend from UP.
  • Only Bachelor’s and Master’s theses already defended are eligible. Only theses submitted/defended in the current and previous calendar years are eligible. Only one thesis per applicant can be submitted.
  • Theses must be sent by their authors in electronic form (ideally in PDF format, usually available at www.theses.cz) via a web application. In addition to the thesis, the author needs to submit their advisor’s evaluation of the thesis* and the opponent’s evaluation. Artworks can be submitted photographically or via another electronic medium.
  • The theses and the evaluations must be submitted by 2 December 2024 by the latest (deadline 11:59 pm) to be eligible for the UP Rector’s Award for Sustainability.
  • Before saving the application form, it is necessary to upload a good-quality, representative photograph of the author (ideally portrait mode).
  • If the electronic application or any of its parts are not submitted by the deadline, the thesis will not be eligible for the competition. By sending your personal information and photograph, you are hereby agreeing to their use for UP purposes.
  • A committee to be named by the UP Rector will judge the submitted theses, and selected theses will be nominated to the UP Rector for awards. The committee deliberations will take place in December 2024.
  • In the event that the committee judges decide that none of the submitted theses are relevant to this prize, or in the case that there are no applications submitted to the competition, the Rector’s Award for Sustainability does not have to be awarded.

* Since at the UP Faculty of Education the thesis advisor does not submit an evaluation, please submit a brief substitute evaluation of the thesis by the advisor.
